Cuixia's belated birthday celebration @ Nihon Mura! (29/01)

In a nutshell: Cuixia's birthday was on the 15th but due to time constraints and whatnot, me + Beverly + Felicia + Yvonne finally held a belated celebration for her @ Nihon Mura!

Basically we had a huge surprise for her up our sleeves! :B

We told her that we were gonna go for Kbox and THEN Nihon Mura. Kbox we gonna pay for her (Yvonne bluff Cuixia that she got some membership thing so it's as cheap as the student price one) + Felicia and Beverly said they called up Kbox to book a room already, so Cuixia got no choice but to let us "treat" her. LOL.

I didn't go to school in the morning because I was really exhausted... but when I woke up at like, 10.30am that day I suddenly realised I had debate training at 2pm! And we had a mock debate practice among ourselves or something, and my team can't do without me!! My research was all with me so they couldn't try to read out my points instead.

So... I decided to go back to school. -__-"

I just wore my PE shirt + FBT + school shoes, didn't bother tying up my hair either. Dumped all my debate papers/notes/drafts into my bag and then headed to school that afternoon!

Okay to cut a long story short, during debate the motion was, "THBT women can do anything men can." and I was proposition! We lost, but I won best speaker hahaha. Then we received our motion for the Julia Gabriels invitation's 1st preliminary rounds on 5 February! THBT Facebook and other social networking sites should only be open to individuals age 16 and above. As you already know, Coral beat Zhonghua. (;

After debate ended at around 5.15pm, I had to slack and laze around White Sands until 6.15pm!!

Supposed to meet Cuixia, Yvonne, Beverly and Felicia @ Downtown East's bus stop at 6pm, the plan was for me to be late ON PURPOSE.

Then Yvonne called me a couple of times and raised her voice at me HAHAHA.

But of course, it was all an act for Cuixia lah! Me and Yvonne were supposed to piss one another off that day. Mad funny sia, our conversation over the phone was like this:

Yvonne: EH GEN! Where are you??
Me: I'm at White Sands.
Yvonne: HUH? Then what time your debate end!
Me: Huh??? *blur* What talking you, I'm at White Sands now!!
Yvonne: HUH then you what time finish helping teacher sia?!
Me: WHATTT? *still haven't realise that it was supposed to be an act*
Yvonne: What time you finish helping teacher? Now what time liao???
Me: My debate ended already, THAT'S WHY I'M IN WHITE SANDS. (stupid me LOL)
Yvonne: I'm with Cuixia now already leh!! *thinking to self: GENNNNN PLEASE GET WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY*
Me: *suddenly remembers* HAHAHAHAHAHA OOH OKOK I GET IT I GET IT.
Yvonne: FASTER COME HOR!!
Me: HAHAHA OKOK!

So if you noticed that I was absent from school that day YET still see me walking about White Sands alone from 5.15pm to 5.50pm, now you know why. :D

So at around 5.50pm I got really bored looking at all the clothing stores (yet still cannot buy !@#$%^&*) so I began taking my time to walk to Downtown East. Really reached at 6.15pm HAHAHA. If I walked normally I'd reach in about 15min or less lor.

Oh and while I was on my way there, Yvonne kept complaining about me being late HAHAHA.

And talking about how much she looked forward to Kbox. After school at around 3pm (?) or so, Felicia headed to Beverly's house where they delivered the cake we baked for Cuixia the previous day to Nihon Mura!! The cake was really fab + SUCCESS!

According to them they were already at Ehub at 5pm and even reserved seats for us! Specially chosen because we want a suitable spot where Cuixia won't notice the waiter bringing out the cake and everything. ^^

Ok back to what happened.

On our way to Kbox (which was next to Nihon Mura btw) I kept talking about how we should've gone to the Nihon Mura @ Tampines because "it's so much better" and that it has more food there. Then Yvonne would say in a very flat voice that since we're here then eat here, and I was all, "Well we're only here because you wanted Kbox" or something like that lah HAHAHA.

So we pissed one another off in a rather subtle manner. Basically Yvonne's Team Kbox and I'm Team Nihon Mura so go imagine! LOL. Felicia and Beverly were supposed to be neutral parties. :D

Anyway Felicia and Beverly cleverly walked slightly ahead of us and reached the Kbox counter first.

They were like, "Eh, later whatever we ask, just say don't have ok??" The counter lady was like, "Huh?" but before they could reiterate, me, Yvonne and Cuixia already caught up with them at the counter so Felicia was all, "Huh... can you help us check again?"

The counter lady pretended to look through her lists and shook her head. Me and Yvonne cleverly acted blur and asked what happened. We stood a distance away since there was a queue behind us, and then Felicia explained that our "booking" was there + all rooms were fully booked! So we cannot have Kbox and since Yvonne wanted Kbox so badly she started making a huge fuss over it and I'm like, opposing her LOL.

We squabbled with one another SO WELL that Cuixia believed that we were really upset with one another!!

And Yvonne was all indignant and everything since she cannot have her Kbox. Then after she supposedly cooled down, she said she wanted to go to the toilet and asked Cuixia to pei her. Nihon Mura was on the way to the toilet so me, Beverly and Felicia said we'd wait for them outside Nihon Mura.

After they were out of sight we quickly went into Nihon Mura to sit down LOL!

Then Beverly and Felicia went into the toilet and told the rest that I simply walked into Nihon Mura. Felicia and Beverly acted a little fed-up with me whereas Yvonne was all, "WALAO EH! She every time liddat one lor!!"

HAHAHAHA mad hao xiao please, Cuixia really believed all that!

And Yvonne, Felicia and Beverly all claimed to go into the toilet, yet all they did in the cubicle was to start laughing silently LOL.

After a really long time waiting for them to return from the toilet, everyone sat down at Nihon Mura and we began eating the dinner buffet there. :D Me and Yvonne also "patched up" in the process LOL!

(In case you still don't get it, me and Yvonne had to "quarrel" so that we can get into Nihon Mura, where the cake was, without Cuixia suspecting much of it. The Kbox drama thing was kind of an added bonus.)

So all was well and we ate and ate. PICTURE TIME!! At last, my blog has been lacking photos for so long.

After we were really full from eating we called for the waiter to serve the "free dessert".

Like so nonsense lor, dessert is ownself take at the counter one but the waiter was smart!! He played along with us.

Before they came out with the cake, the Chinese New Year songs playing in the background suddenly changed to "Happy Birthday" LOL! Then Cuixia guessed that there would be a cake... hahaha!

Muahahahaha we bought Betty Crocker's premix for the cake. BETTY CROCKER IS THE BEST!!

It was yellow in colour, and we also got Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips and loads and loads of M&M crunchy!

The day before, on 28th Jan, we went to Beverly's house right after school to bake! Quickly began mixing the premix + vegetable oil + water and then baked it. Jackson helped us buy the cardboard box for the cake, thanks ah! :D

Oh and when we had to grease the bottom + sides of the pan before pouring the mix in?

I asked if Bev had any grease paper 'cos it was easier so she found this really old box of grease paper. I tried to take a sheet out and a small cockroach crawled out!!! I immediately screamed and flung the entire box of grease paper onto the floor LOL.

After the cake was done, we melted the chocolate and added (hot) water to it because it was too thick, we spread it all over the cake! But not before we specially inserted Sour Power into a corner of the cake LOL.

We marked out a corner where we carefully placed it in... yet when we cut out that corner it wasn't there!!

Turns out it was in another corner LOL. Other than this and the birthday song playing, everything else was a success! Hahahaha.

Oh and on the day we baked the cake, we were afraid that Beverly's family members would anyhow touch the cake so I took out my post-its and wrote this to paste on the box!

Apparently I forgot how to write that last Chinese character so Bev wrote it for me. :D

We went to the toilet and began camwhoring with the (dirty) mirror there. PHOTO SPAM!

Great night out!

After that we actually went to the open space outside Kbox and Nihon Mura where we did jumpshots!
Cuixia was our photographer hahahah. But many of them are unglam + involved mad loads of zhao geng-ing HAHAHA. But but, I shall post my top 2 favourite jumpshots! Both of Felicia!

Yvonne's uncle then sent me home, reached home at about 10pm++, cannot remember when but it's around there yeah!

It was an awesome night out, a great surprise planned! Let's all go out like this again, especially after national exams alright!! :D

Happy (belated) 17th birthday Cuixia! :D

Shall post about last Friday once I've the time. For now, it's time to hit the sack! Mad tired hahaha.

My first victory for the school!

Oh my gosh it's past midnight already, I got home an hour ago at 11.30pm!!

Today was really, really eventful and it's also the main reason for my extreme joy, YOU KNOW WHY??

BECAUSE CORAL WON ZHONGHUA DURING

TONIGHT'S (okay fine last night) DEBATE!!!

I'm so mad happy because it was my very first time debating with an opponent of another school!

I was SO nervous and I also got a really nice surprise from my friends too! Hahahaha. Shan't say it out now or else I may run of things to say the next time I blog properly about it. :D

Oh and!!! Last Friday, we had a belated birthday celebration @ Nihon Mura for Cuixia!!

We had this big plan to surprise her and it was a great success! Pictures are even up on Facebook and this time I'm really gonna blog about it HAHAHA.

Next prelim rounds for the Julia Gabriels debating competition is on 5 March!

Exactly one more month to practice and refine our speaking. I'm aiming for best speaker woohoo!

Prior to last night's round, we only had 2 weeks where we had major crash courses on the right way to debate and after last's night's round, Mr Osman + Ashin + Jacq were all saying that we were GREAT! For first-time debaters of course. Mr Osman says it's because we were naturally good at it so it helped in the long run.

I'm really happy. :D

And I am really tired too. I shall go bathe and then drink mummy's home-cooked soup. ♥

And once my hair dries it'd be time to hit the sack!!! I foresee that it'd be about 2am by then BUT WHO CARES. It's a Saturday tomorrow. ^^

Cell tomorrow @ Rm's house! Am looking forward to it.

I absolutely love today!!! Praise the Lord for our victory! (: Mr Osman gonna announce to the school on Monday about our victory yay! I feel so encouraged and confident about the 2nd prelim rounds already! :D

Being bitter.

Hi everyone! Guess I'm back to update huh.

It's been a long while, I've been so busy and tired and lazy... sigh. A lot of things have been happening in my life.

I wouldn't say there has been any drama lately but school is slowly beginning to wear me out. ):

And then there's DEBATE. Major crash course please, we only began trainings like, 2 weeks ago?! And first prelims is this Friday omgosh. For benefit of the doubt, our motion for this Friday is:

This house believes that Facebook and other social networking sites should only be open to individuals age 16 and above

Mad sian right, got this kind of motion!!! Some more we're proposition WTH.

But Mr Osman has helped us set the caseline and I'm actually rather confident about it. (: Yesterday after school I stayed back with Srinivas (sp?), KING OMAR, Shirley, Safiya and 2 other teachers. We did brainstorming and it was goooooooood. (:

We're gonna be up against Zhonghua Sec, I'm kind of nervous but I can't back out now can I. Hahaha!

I'm gonna be speaking as 2nd speaker + do reply speech (if you don't know what all that meant then read up on it yourself, I am lazy to explain) and today I got my script from Mr Osman. NEARLY 3 PAGES LONG! Mad sia confirm not enough time to say it all, PLUS rebuttal. But we're definitely gonna make more amendments to the script so yeah.

Other than the crazy added stress from debate and lessons, I've been really disappointed in many aspects in my life.

If I have to categorise my disappointments it'd just be these three:

1. Disappointed in my CCA.

2. Disappointed in the people around me.

3. Disappointed in myself.

Not much, but it's been making my chest feel so heavy at times that it gets hard to breathe. :(

Maybe I really need to reflect on my own attitude at times. I'm a procrastinator, and at many times an overly-complacent person. At times I get so fed-up at issues and let myself get so affected by it that I let myself affect the people around me who actually do care for me.

Disappointment is caused by placing your hopes/expectations on another, only that it was in vain.

I don't even wanna express my disappointment in CCA right now because I don't even know WHERE to start.

I'm just so disappointed that I begin to dread CCA, yet there's no other CCA I'd rather be at.

You see, my CCA means a lot to me. Serving and leading it meant so much to me.

Yet my teachers had to let me down. Even my CCA friends had to let me down. All that self-centeredness, greed for power, hypocrisy and everything. Ever since that fateful day last year the air in the computer lab every CCA session began to stink of all that. It made me so sick that I found so much hatred in my heart; so much that I even surprised myself. It made me so sick that I even broke down silently in class, yet the only person who noticed and passed me tissue was the one whom I had partly blamed for my predicament.

That was last year, and this year, my CCA teacher had to let me down again.

I... don't know what else to say to express my disappointment. I really don't. I don't know what to do about it either.

There's just so much heaviness in my heart that just won't leave.

Many times I wonder what I did wrong to deserve all that disappointment/disappointing treatment.

Even more times, I wonder if it was because I wasn't good enough for these people. Was it because I wasn't good enough, that you walked out of my life? Was it because I wasn't good enough that I couldn't become chairperson, not even when the majority of the club had voted me to? Was it because I wasn't good enough that you had to pick someone else less deserving to become CCA chairperson? Was it because I wasn't good enough that the rest of you have chosen to drift further away from me? Was it because I wasn't good enough that when someone else took my place in the CCA, that person also took my place in all of your hearts?

Was it because I wasn't good enough that I've failed myself and my parents' high expectations of me? Was it because I wasn't good enough that I cannot score as well as I used to anymore? Was it because I wasn't good enough? When can I ever be good enough, then?

Many times I adopted the defeatist kind of attitude, which is none other than waving the white flag.

"I give up, I give up. You win." I guess that was how I had handled the issues that made me this perplexed.

And then I start moving backwards. The me that once used to be so eager and active in CCA has now taken a step back, bitter from all the things I had to go through.

Now that I reflect, I know I shouldn't continue on this way. I need to start doing something about my bitterness.

And come to think about it, I now know what Nick's prayers for me were referring to. The past couple of weeks during cell, he'd pray for me during altar call and pray for the walls I had built up inside of me to be brought down and that I would learn to love again.

I didn't think much of it, but it's actually falling into place now.

These walls I built on the inside of me were all from bitterness that has accumulated over the months.

And unless I bring down these walls and open my heart once more, I shall never learn to love again. I realise that now.

I apologise if you've actually read all of this emo-self-reflecting crap. I just thought I should post this here instead of on my private blog. I didn't expect this to turn out so long-winded anyway hahaha.
