Tough times never last; tough men do.

I thought the holidays were great. And I actually kind of feel sad that it's gonna be all over so soon. :(

Still got 5 essays to complete argh. Productivity is too slow so I need to make it a point to be more efficient when I get back to school on Monday. Oh and, I saw my new timetable last night. Still as chiong sua as ever!! All days still end at 3pm every day except for Tuesdays and Fridays arghh.

And 'O' levels is like 4 months away oh noooo. All the more gotta buck up for ALL my subjects because apparently I'm scoring like, an average of B's and since a grade is just 5 marks away I need to strategise well.

What has happened since my last proper update?

From 20th to 23rd June I was away @ Ubin for Redshirt camp (aka Student Leadership Training Camp, SLTC) to help out. It was really, really enjoyable despite all the discomforts we had to endure. A lot of really epic stuff also happened! We BBQ-ed hotdogs while campers had their lights out. What a great way to enjoy the outdoors. :) I remember how me and Yvonne couldn't sleep at all during the first night because a bunch of Sec 3 guys (Redshirts, not campers) kept talking really loudly! About World Cup some more!! *faint*

And then during the second day me and Yvonne weren't assigned to anything much during the day so we went around trying out the teacher's hammocks (SHIOK I TELL YOU, makes me so compelled to get my own hammock and sleep on it at home ahahahahah), chatting with Felicia, Roy and Kelvin How at the pavilion by the sea. Can also remember the stupid joke between me and Yvonne that resulted in us creating a brand new dance for the camper's mass dance! I thought that was really epic hahaha. And how we had to be on 'instructor mode' in front of the campers and then don't smile at all hahahahaha (although when me, Felicia and Betty were teaching the mass dance we honestly found it impossible to not laugh because the dance was so retarded! YET I LIKE IT).

And I came home with like, a gazillion bites from both sandflies and mosquitoes!! Grrrr. Looking at all of them made me so stressed out (what if they left behind scars?!?!?) that my hair would've fallen off like 200% more than before. :( Oh well. And now, about 4 days after I finished the camp the bites all look so much better than before, albeit still rather ugly imho. And I thought I only got like, less than 5 sandfly bites?! Turns out that as the days pass the mosquito bites all recover sooner and hence leave behind the more stubborn sandfly bites. And I've like a lot of them argh.

Helpful advice: The next time you enter any environment like Ubin's, kindly don't pack just any random mosquito/insect repellent. If you're using the brand "Off!" THEN ALL THE MORE DON'T USE IT! It attracts sandflies even more. Kindly purchase repellents that are high in concentration in DEET. I know Off! Woods (or something liddat) is good but it's expensive.

...but if you ask me, it's usually well worth the money (especially if you are a girl!!) if you don't wanna get these sandfly bites! And in huge quantities like me too. You will feel major stressed over worrying if they'd leave behind stubborn scars. 'Cos now my leg like quite cui. :(

Anyway that aside, here's a big congratulations to the new batch of Redshirts! *standing ovation*
YOU SURVIVED THE CAMP. You guys well deserve the red shirt because you've fought on til the end of the camp, no matter how tough everything was. You endured and persevered as a team even throughout the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of push-ups/sit-ups/sky stampers. That camp's the reason why there's always a certain sort of pride/honour in being a Redshirt, other than being able to have another platform to truly serve and lead the school. :)

My only encouragement to you all is to continue to prove that you're truly worthy of this shirt you've painstakingly earned. :)
'Cos the last thing I wanna see is people stumbling and then end up losing their shirts due to a moment of folly. Don't let the lack of leadership even over your own lives put everything you've experienced in the camp go to waste. Remember, as student leaders you are the role models of the school. Be of good character. :D

Ok nagging stops here.

After the camp officially ended on Wednesday. Then I met Yvonne and Nick at Marina Square for lunch @ Yuki Yaki on Thursday!
Some Jap steamboat + bbq house, they even got DIY ice-cream!! Good food, good fun. After that went to Peninsular. Yvonne checked for her guitar capo while Nick bought his ankle guards (at only $2!!). Then Nick once mentioned that at the top floor there was this heavy metal shop + a witchcraft shop which I was really curious in checking out, so Nick brought us there. I have absolutely no comments about the witchcraft and heavy metal stores. Just a little bit disturbed on the inside because both are on occultism. Anyway.

After that, went to MRT station where Nick left for home. Me and Yvonne then spontaneously decided to head to Bras Besar when we were already past the MRT gantries (we could've easily walked from City Hall to Bras Besar) so we just took the train to Bugis and walked from there. Checked out Swee Lee and Rankings for Yvonne's guitar capo but all the average/above average quality capos exceeded her initial budget for the day! Oh and we also decided that one day we shall go work part-time at Tecman LOL. Like cool only uh!! Hopefully can have staff benefits too because I love reading and Tecman has so many shelves of books! Heehehehee.

Wanted to do homework at Yvonne's house til 7pm or later before heading home but mummy wanted me home early so I dropped the idea.

Friday, had lunch with Yvonne at Tampines! Then I pei her go Snip Avenue to get her hair cut. We waited for a whole 1 and half hours okay!! And Yvonne wasn't very satisfied with her hair cut too but just today she went for a second haircut and she's much happier SO ANYWAY. After that, headed to the Tampines Regional Library nearby to do homework. Finished up only one essay but oh well. By then it was quite late already so we headed home. :)

Today was the last day of Ignite 2010! Lazy to type everything all out, but God's moving in the people's hearts like He always does. :) Great conferences, great workshops, great people, great experience. Definitely would wanna go for Ignite again next year! Hahaha.

Okay it's like, 2.15AM now. I should get to sleep. Church tomorrow, shall remember to head straight home after that and sleep early before heading back to school on Monday. :) I miss wearing the uniform already hahahaha.
